Christmas on a Monday! How grateful am I? A Monday morning Christmas means an extra long weekend for my family. It means a balance of time at home and time visiting others. It also means, Christmas falls on a Mindful Monday, which makes me super happy to reach out to each of you and wish you a very Merry Christmas.
The holiday season for me is filled with laughter and joy, lights, delicious scents, and good old fashioned fun. It is a week of family games and favorite movies. The days are shorter and darker, lending themselves to the magic of a Christmas tree lit up in all its glory
I am happy snuggling under the covers with a good book and a hot cup of tea. I am just as delighted to be sipping wine and savoring appys with friends. The holiday season naturally lends itself to slowing down, taking it all in, and just being present (no pun intended).
Speaking of presents. I adore the gift giving season, simply because I get to give gifts. The people on my list are special to me. They are my family, my friends, and people who care for me throughout the year. I love having a reason to think of them and then go about finding something I hope they will enjoy.
Sometimes, it is only a small token of my appreciation. Other times, it is the gift I know my husband wants, regardless of whether I think it is a waste of time and money or not. The point is to give of yourself and sometimes that means, putting your own opinions aside to make somebody else feel special.
So whether you celebrate Christmas in the traditional sense or surround your home with another holiday celebration, just as precious to your family, I want to wish you the very best of the holiday season. May you and your family be surrounded by love. May your home be blessed with joy. And may you feel the hope of the season in your heart strong enough to carry you well into 2018.
Happy Holidays from our family to yours!
